Dear visitor,

If you want to find out more about the oldest Church in the world, where all Christianity started, you are very welcomed to our monastery where we try to live in the Spirit of the first Christian communities founded by the Holy Apostles and their disciples whose hearts burned of love for their Savior Jesus Christ and for their fellow neighbours.

The Protection of the Mother of God Monastery in Allegan, Michigan, is a men’s monastery in the Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas which belong to the Orthodox Romanian Patriarchate. The monastery continues the  monastic life started in Ellenville, NY, more than ten years ago. Although founded by the Romanian Orthodox Church, the monastery is open to anyone, of any nationality, language, race, or age. The language which will be used during the services will be, depending on the congregation, Romanian and English.

With the blessing of His Eminence Nicolae, the Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of the Americas, the monastery was moved in 2018 in the beautiful plains of Allegan, MI, where monastic life was established once again. Here, the brothers are humbly striving to follow Christ’s commandments in the spirit of the Holy Fathers who left us a priceless treasure of passion-healing counsels that lift us to Heaven and bring us closer to the Bridegroom of our souls: our Lord Jesus Christ, the True and Living God!

            WELCOME HOME!
